The RIGHT Start for Your Best Friend

"TAKE THE LEAD" Puppy Program

A 16‑week journey designed to set YOU and YOUR PUPPY up for success.

Our 12‑session, in‑home course combines positive, structured obedience training with real‑world socialisation to ensure your puppy grows into a confident and well‑mannered companion, and you gain the skills to become the guiding light your dog needs.

WHY Choose a Private Puppy Program over Group Classes?

Distraction‑free learning. Your home is the calmest place for a puppy to begin learning. Without other dogs competing for attention, your puppy can focus, and you can relax.

✓ Personalised guidance. We tailor each session to your puppy’s level, your lifestyle and your family’s goals. This one‑on‑one attention means we can move at your puppy’s pace and adapt exercises as needed. Additionally, trainer's focus on you and your technique means you can develop confident handling and communication skills.

Family involvement. Training isn’t just about the dog; it’s about the people too. We involve parents and kids in fun, age‑appropriate exercises so everyone learns to communicate consistently, and your pup is not left confused.

Convenience. Easy scheduling with no travel time. You choose the days and times that suit your family, with no rushing out the front door to meet start times.

No stress if you miss a class Life happens! If you can’t make a session, your program simply pauses. You won’t miss out on any key learning or be left behind. Everything picks back up right where you left off. *Plus, you can reschedule with as little as 12 hours notice.

✓ After Care Support. Reach out anytime in between sessions for questions and support with your training.

Sessions Times range from 1 to 1.5 hours*, leaving plenty of room for hands on practice and questions.

We Cover EVERYTHING Your Dog Needs in This CRUCIAL LEARNING PERIOD

Our program focuses on True Socialisation, Manners and Obedience, with a strong emphasis on building strong connections and lifelong bonds.

Highlights include, but not limited to:

True Socialisation: We’ll guide you through safe, positive exposure to new people, environments, sounds and objects. Early and ongoing socialisation reduces fear and helps puppies become adaptable, confident and resilient.

Crate Training & Safe Spaces: Learn how to introduce the crate as a comfortable haven - like a bedroom (never a punishment) and gradually build duration so your puppy feels secure when left alone and also chooses to put themselves in there, when they need time out from all of the attention.

Obedience & Manners: Teach essential cues such as Stay, Down, Heel, Come and Drop using marker training for clear communication. We’ll also show you how to make these behaviours rock solid around distractions and without treats.

Impulse Control: Your puppy will learn to wait patiently and make calm choices, resulting in safer dog to dog greetings, and avoid learning to jump to say hello to guests.

Loose‑Leash Walking & Threshold Composure: You’ll master techniques for keeping the leash loose and your puppy’s attention on you. It's the foundation for relaxed, enjoyable walks.

Real‑World Etiquette: We simulate then test visitor greetings, café outings and park trips so your puppy knows what to do around guests, children and other dogs.

What to Expect

Each session builds on the last, with homework reiterated via email to reference for your practice. We record progress at each session, adapt as needed, and provide after‑care support for any questions between sessions. By the end of 16 weeks / 12 sessions you’ll have:

A puppy who responds reliably to cues, is engaged with you and knows how to self regulate for calmness.

A set of tools to prevent problem behaviours like jumping, biting, pulling on the leash and separation anxiety.

Confidence in handling everyday situations from vet visits to family gatherings to inappropriate greetings from off leash dogs.

Testimonials

“Kate explained how to safely socialise Blue - we had completely the wrong idea about what it meant! The personalised attention made all the difference, even our kids love being involved in training."

Sarah M - Shelly Beach

“We started the program when Milli was 3 months old. She had a few habits already, like jumping and biting - in one. The support between sessions was fantastic, some days I just felt lost. Highly recommend!”

Marie T - Buddina

"Graham and I are always busy on the weekends, and sometimes we work late. We found having the trainer come to us extremely valuable. She was quite flexible with rescheduling too, which we really appreciated."

Why It Works

We recognise that families have unique dynamics and learning styles. Efficient one‑hour lessons keep training concise and productive, allowing you to progress quickly while maintaining your existing commitments. Adult instructions- we can dive deeper into training theory and problem‑solving techniques, giving you greater insight into your dog’s behaviour.
